The Climb for Harlem Academy is an annual benefit bicycle ride developed to provide an important source of funds for this new independent school.

The inaugural Climb was held in June of 2006. Twenty-four hardy riders pedalled either 55 or 110 miles to and from the summit of Bear Mountain, and raised over $50,000 to support the school. .

The ride was supported by many volunteers and followed by a pool-party featuring live music and presentations by the school's founder and staff. Corporate sponsors of the inaugural Climb included Turner Construction, Meridian Air Services, Rafael Viñoly Architects and Van Wagner Communications.
