All riders will start and end at the Greenwich Country Day School, in Greenwich, Connecticut, right at the foot of many beautiful semi-rural roads. Our ride takes advantage of these roads, which generally have light automotive traffic, broad shoulders and prettier vistas than routes closer to New York City.
The itinerary consists of a single 50-mile ride heading north. Return by the same route going south. Cyclists can turn around at the various rest stops, or wherever half the day's ride feels like it ought to be. Pacing will be up to individual riders and groups. Typically, riders intending to ride longer distances will maintain higher average speeds.
Riders should plan to show up a half-hour ahead of their departure time to sign-in, make sure their bicycle is in good working order, fill their water bottles, and to take care of any other necessities.
More detailed information on the ride specifics will be posted here as this year's logistics are worked out.
